Wildcats set to battle Bearcats in DII's top game
The ACU Wildcats have waited nine long months to put the bitter taste of last year's triple-overtime playoff defeat behind them. Saturday night in Maryville, Mo., they get a chance to do that as they battle one of the nation's premier programs in Northwest Missouri State.

Wildcats add 16 athletes, including top prep runner
ACU head track and field coach Don D. Hood announced Wednesday that the Wildcats have added 16 athletes for the 2008-09 athletic year, including one of the nation's top high school distance runners in Charles White from Colorado.

ACU ranked eighth in poll; 3 Wildcats earn honors
ACU is ranked eighth in the 2008 d2football.com pre-season football poll, which was announced late Tuesday. In addition, senior running back Bernard Scott, senior wide receiver Johnny Knox and senior center Sam Collins were honored on the Web site's pre-season all-America list.

ACU begins Year 2 in Missouri
The ACU Wildcats will begin their second year of women's soccer this weekend with a pair of matches in Missouri. The Wildcats will play their first six matches of the season away from Abilene before their first home match (Sept. 16).

ACU opens season in Canyon
The ACU Wildcats will begin their third season under head coach Kellen Mock this weekend in Canyon as they play in the BritKare Lady Buff Classic. The Wildcats will get started with a pair of matches Friday, followed by two matches Saturday.
