Cameron's Glasgow tops men's basketball academic honors

Cameron senior Kallan Glasgow was named Academic Player of the Year to top a list of five players selected for the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Men's Basketball Team, it was announced Tuesday by league officials at the LSC Awards Banquet in Bartlesville, Okla.

Glasgow averages 10.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for the Aggies.  One of the top rebounders in the LSC, he ranks fourth in rebounding, second in offensive boards (3.4) and sixth in defensive caroms (5.0).  The senior mathematics major was an All-LSC honorable mention last season.

To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have reached sophomore status and carry at least a 3.30 grade point average. The All-Academic Team is selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league's sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement. All qualifying student-athletes not selected for the All-Academic Team are placed on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Joining Thomas on the All-Academic Team were Central Oklahoma's Tyler Phillips and Shane Carroll, East Central's Wes Badley and Texas A&M-Kingsville's Adan Montalvo.
