Lone Star Conference regular season champion Abilene Christian had seven first-team selections on the All-LSC women’s soccer team announced Wednesday evening during the championship banquet in Abilene, Texas.

      ACU totaled nine selections with two first-team picks as well. Midwestern State had six honorees with four first-teamers, one second-team and one honorable mention selection.

      Angelo State had five picks with one first-team, three second-team and one honorable mention, while Texas A&M-Commerce had four including one first-team and three second-teamers. Eastern New Mexico, West Texas A&M, Incarnate Word and Texas Woman’s each added three with the Zias, Lady Buffs and Cardinals all placing one first-team recipient to complete the 16-person team.

      The Wildcats claimed three individual awards with Offensive Player of the Year Andrea Carpenter, Goalkeeper of the Year Elliott London and Coach of the Year Casey Wilson. Carpenter earned player of the year acclaim for the second straight year.

      MSU’s Hanna Staley was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, while Texas A&M-Commerce’s Jade Bell was named Freshman of the Year.

      The first team included ACU’s Lyndsey Womack, Brie Buschman, Lexi Stirling, Carpenter, Ashley Holton, Julie Coppedge and Elliott London, MSU’s Staley, Kelsey Hill, Lindsay Pritchard and Maddie Fraser, ENMU’s Emily Simon, UIW’s Maggie Schrader, WT’s Leslie Briggs, ASU’s Brandie DeBacker and A&M-C’s Brionna Minde.

      Altogether, 36 student-athletes were recognized with the all-conference honors program, including at least one player from all eight women’s soccer teams in the league.

Offensive Player of the Year: Andrea Carpenter, Abilene Christian

Goalkeeper of the Year: Elliott London, Abilene Christian

Defensive Player of the Year: Hanna Staley, Midwestern State

Freshman of the Year: Jade Bell, Texas A&M-Commerce

Coach of the Year: Casey Wilson, Abilene Christian
