LSC Football Academic Honors announced

Texas A&M-Commerce wide receiver Taylor Fore topped the 2011 Lone Star Conference football academic awards, which were announced by league officials on Thursday.

Fore, a senior kinesiology major from Fort Worth, Texas, was selected as Academic Player of the Year. He led the Lions in receptions (58) and receiving yards (561) and is tied for second in the LSC in catches per game (5.8) and 10th in average yards per game (56.1).

A total of 11 players were named to the LSC All-Academic Team, which recognizes both academic and athletic achievement.

With Fore on the All-Academic Team was West Texas A&M’s Dustin Vaughan and Aaron Mullane, Angelo State’s Blake Hamblin and Nate Bayless, Texas A&M-Kingsville’s James Cannell, Midwestern State’s Tyler Maner, Eastern New Mexico’s Wesley Wood and Seth Bailey, Abilene Christian’s Thor Woerner, and Incarnate Word’s Charles Segura.
