Midwestern State is the favorite in the Lone Star Conference as the league’s annual men’s soccer preseason poll was released on Tuesday.
      The Mustangs received seven first-place votes on the 10 ballots cast by the league’s head coaches, sports information directors and various media representatives. 
      MSU totaled 35 points to top Incarnate Word, who was second with 29 points and the three remaining first-place votes.
      West Texas A&M was picked third with 20 points, while reigning LSC champion Eastern New Mexico was fourth with 16.
      The schedule of games begins in late August. Each of the four LSC teams will play the other twice during the regular season, with those contests determining the conference champion.
