Midwestern State led from start to finish capturing its first-ever Lone Star Conference Men’s Golf Championship title. The annual league event, which features six men's teams, was held at The Golf Club at Champions Circle in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Mustangs posted the three lowest rounds of the event to finish 10-over-par 874 (297-292-285). The MSU effort was led by redshirt freshman Santiago Gomez who earned individual medalist honors, at seven-under 209 (73-68-68).
The men’s all-tournament team included Gomez and teammates Derek Oland and Jeremy LeGuen, along with Abilene Christian’s Corbin Renner, who finished at even-par including a tournament low 67 round, and Alex Carpenter.
ACU finished second (903), Cameron was third (915), Texas A&M-Commerce fourth (924), West Texas A&M fifth (927) and Incarnate Word sixth (929).
