Tarleton State topped Angelo State 3-2 to win its first-ever Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship in Canyon, Texas.
The TexAnns started strong with a 25-20 win in the first set aided by seven blocks and a strong offensive attack with 11 kills while hitting at a .333 clip.
The Rambelles picked up wins in the next two sets including a back-and-forth affair in the third set which included eight ties and three lead changes. ASU prevailed 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
TSU got its offense back on track in the fourth set with a match-best .355 hitting percentage to force the fifth set.
The TexAnns jumped to a 3-0 lead in the final set with two Kenya Alexander kills and a Rambelle error. ASU tied the set at 5-5, before TSU pulled away for the 15-11 victory.
Hailey Roberts led the TexAnn offense with a match-best 19 kills, while Alexander added 11 put downs and nine blocks.
Brianna Sotello led a trio of Rambelles with double-digit kills with 15.
The TexAnns earned the LSC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship. LSC teams now await the NCAA Division II Volleyball Selection show Sunday, Nov. 16 at 9 p.m. on NCAA.com.

CANYON - For the first time ever, Tarleton State is headed to the LSC Tournament Championship game after coming back from an 11-5 deficit in the fifth set to knock off top-seeded West Texas A&M in a five-set thriller.
Also, there will be a new tournament champion for the first time in eight years as the TexAnns end the Lady Buffs run of eight straight titles. Tarleton will face Angelo State at 5 p.m. tomorrow for the crown and an automatic berth into the NCAA regional tournament next week.
Tarleton opened the set with a slim lead before West Texas A&M took the lead right back with a 12-11 lead. After the teams traded points to 13-12, Hailey Roberts evened things up with a kill shot and Jasmyne Brown put the TexAnns on top for the final time with a kill of her own...

Belles reach LSC Volleyball Championship finals with four-set win over Cameron
SAN ANGELO – Zoey Hanrahan recorded a career-high with 15 kills and added four blocks, while Daeleigh Castile and Brianna Sotello each had 13 kills to help lead Angelo State to its fifth straight Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship final appearance with a 3-1 win over Cameron on Friday in the semifinals of the tournament at the WTAMU Fieldhouse.
Shelby Wilt added a match-high 27 digs and Katie MacLeay provided 20 digs for the Belles (21-7) who bounced back from dropping the opening set to the Aggies to take the final three sets in the four-set win. ASU finished the match with an 89-69 dig advantage over CU which ended its season with a 15-15 record.
The Belles advance to the LSC Championship finals where they will play the winner of the other semifinal match between West Texas A&M and Tarleton State which is in progress...

#21 Lady Buffs Sweep Past Texas A&M-Commerce in the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals
The #21 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M started slow by responded with a sweep of Texas A&M-Commerce (25-19, 25-15, 25-17) to advance to the team’s 10th straight Lone Star Conference Championships Semifinals in front of over 700 fans at the WTAMU Fieldhouse “The Box” in Canyon on Thursday night. The Lady Buffs move their win streak to 23 matches as they improve to 31-3 on the season while the Lions end their campaign at 7-23.
The opening set saw the teams trade the first 10 points of the frame before back-to-back blocks by Jessica Johnson and Cori Haley followed by a Lions attack error forced an early Commerce timeout with WT leading 11-7, the teams traded points after the break before a kill by Sydney Harlan on an errant Lions pass that found its way over the net was followed by a Kameryn Hayes kill from Corey Davis to force another TAMUC timeout at 17-12. The Lady Buffs ran their lead to as much as seven points after the break at 21-14 on a Haley cross-court kill before the Lions fought back to cut the lead to 21-17 heading into a WT timeout, a pair of Haley kills from Kayes forced set point before the sophomore outside struck again with the finish to end the frame at 25-19...

TexAnns head to LSC semifinals with sweep of Kingsville
Tarleton State swept its way into the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament semifinal round by knocking off Texas A&M-Kingsville in straight sets Thursday night.
This completes a three-game season sweep of Texas A&M-Kingsville by Tarleton. The TexAnns did not surrender a set to the Javelinas all season, sweeping all three meetings. This win also vaults the TexAnns into the semifinal round for the sixth time in 10 tournament trips.
Kenya Alexander and Hailey Roberts, who claimed the Defensive Player and Freshman of the year awards in the Lone Star Conference less than 24 hours before match time, got the TexAnns started with back-to-back kills that started a 5-1 push out of the gate for Tarleton...

Cameron stuns Texas Woman's in five for first tournament win since 2007
The Cameron volleyball team shook off the underdog status to stun Texas Woman's in five sets in the Lone Star Conference Championship quarterfinal on Thursday afternoon. After missing the tournament the last two seasons Cameron won their first postseason match since the 2007 season.
Additionally, the Aggies have not beaten a TWU squad since 2011, and brings their overall record to 15-14; while the Pioneers fall to 18-10.
In set one, the Aggies came out on fire and stormed to a 10-3 lead on the Pioneers. CU's early advantage and hitting .273 proved to be too much for TWU to overcome and Cameron took set one 25-21; Kendra Adams paced CU with six kills while Jordan Escobar added four...

Abbie Lynn recorded a career-high 21 kills and Alexa Johnson distributed 53 assists to help lead Angelo State to the semifinals of the Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championships with a 3-1 win over Eastern New Mexico in the quarterfinals on Thursday at the WTAMU Fieldhouse.
The Belles (20-7) will now face the Cameron-Texas Woman's winner at 5 p.m. on Friday in the semifinals. ASU has now won 20 or more matches in each of the past four seasons and have also advanced to the conference tournament semifinals the past six seasons. TWU and Cameron were scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. in Canyon. The loss ends ENMU's season at 13-18...
