A total of five student-athletes were recognized Tuesday as the Lone Star Conference women’s basketball academic honors were announced by league officials at the LSC Awards Banquet in Allen, Texas.
The honors included an All-Academic Team, with an Academic Player of the Year, for the league.
Angelo State’s Hillari Adam was tabbed LSC Academic Player of the Year. The junior accounting major from Wall, Texas, is the Rambelles leading scorer at 12 points per game. She ranks 10th in the LSC in scoring and eighth in rebounding. She was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team.
To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have reached sophomore status and carry at least a 3.30 grade point average. The All-Academic Team is selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement.
On the All-Academic Team with Adam was Eastern New Mexico’s Lakeeyscia Griffin, Cameron’s Ali Brown, West Texas A&M’s Chontiquah White, and Tarleton State’s Shanae Lowrance.
