PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Abbie Lynn, Angelo State University, FR, Amarillo, Texas, Amarillo HS
Lynn is off to a productive freshman season with 82 kills in her first eight matches with the Angelo State volleyball team. She led the Belles with 18 kills last Saturday in a four-set win over Midwestern State and also supplied 15 in a four-set win over Texas Woman’s and had 10 in a sweep of Cameron. Lynn hit .301 and also produced seven blocks last week for the Belles.

DEFENSIVE
Kenya Alexander, Tarleton State University, JR, Fort Hood, Kan., Wyandotte HS
Alexander was a dominant force in the middle of the TexAnn rotation as the 6-4 junior lifted Tarleton State to its current six-game winning streak, 8-1 start to the season and 3-0 beginning in LSC action. Alexander recorded a team-high 22 blocks last week, including 16 blocks against Lone Star Conference opponents, to go along with 46 kills on a .362 hitting percentage. Her 59 blocks and 1.48 blocks per set lead the league. In her first career LSC game Tuesday against A&M-Commerce, Alexander became the first TexAnn since 2010 to have at least 15 attacks in a game and commit no errors. She followed up that performance by recording the final two points of the match on a block and a kill to give Tarleton a sweep of Midwestern State in Wichita Falls.

SETTER
Kameryn Hayes, West Texas A&M University, SR, Cypress, Texas, Cy-Fair HS
Hayes registered another strong weekend for the Lady Buffs as the senior setter/outside tallied 79 assists for an average of 5.64 per set and .279 team hitting percentage while also registering 33 kills (2.36/set) and 31 digs (2.21/set) on the weekend that saw WT go 4-0 with wins over Adelphi, Fort Lewis, American International and Texas A&M-Kingsville.  The Cypress, Texas native registered her first career triple-double on Saturday afternoon with 10 kills, 24 assists and 11 digs in WT’s four set win over the host Javelinas in the Lone Star Conference opener for the Lady Buffs.
