PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Haley Mendel, Angelo State University, SO, Midfielder, Bastrop, Texas, Bastrop HS,
Mendel recorded the first hat trick of her career last Saturday against Colorado Mesa and comes into this week leading the Lone Star Conference with six goals through the first four games of the 2014 season. Mendel, who was scoreless as a freshman, has led an electric Rambelle offense which is outscoring its opponents 16-3 and is now ranked No. 14 in the nation. Mendel has scored her six goals on 10 shots, including goals coming on a free kick, penalty kick and four offensive attacks which found the back of the net. At her current pace, Mendel would score 27 goals in regular season games this year. She has also added an assist for good measure.

DEFENSIVE
Courtney Burnette, Midwestern State University, R-FR, Irving, Texas, MacArthur HS
Burnette stretched her scoreless streak to 410 minutes posting shutouts against Western State Colorado, Southwestern Oklahoma and Oklahoma Christian to help Midwestern State to a 2-0-1 week. The redshirt-freshman from Irving leads the Lone Star Conference in goals against average (0.35), saves (40) and shutouts (4). Burnette tallied six saves against WSC, seven versus SWOSU and five against OC to improve her season save percentage to .952.
