Women’s Basketball: WNMU’s Gutierrez, TWU’s Nezianya tabbed

OFFENSIVE
Jordan Gutierrez, Western New Mexico, SR, Guard, Albuquerque, NM, Valley
Gutierrez paced the Lady Mustangs through the first three games of the season averaging 18 points, 3.0 rebounds, 10 assists, six steals, seven three-pointers and averaging 35 minutes in starting all three games. She scored double-figures in all three games with a high of 25 in the season-opener against Oklahoma panhandle in which she made 6-11 from the field and 4-8 from long range. She also came away with four steals. She added a three, three-pointer game in the win over Rogers State, adding 16 total points and five rebounds. She has gone 19-20 at the foul line so far.

DEFENSIVE
Alexis Nezianya, Texas Woman's University, JR, Forward, Carrollton, Texas, Newman-Smith HS
Nezianya anchored the inside for the Pioneers during a 3-0 opening week. While playing an average of 17 minutes, the forward averaged 10.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and one block. Nezianya posted career-highs of 20 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in the win against Adams State.
