Cameron won its first-ever Lone Star Conference Tennis Tournament Championship with a 5-2 win over Midwestern State Saturday in Wichita Falls, Texas.
 
The victory completed a historic year for the Aggies as they also won the LSC Championship for the first time as well.

CU was down 2-1 after doubles with Alina Gorina and Zhenia Shviadok providing the lone point by taking their 12th match in a row 8-2.
 
Following the intermission, Gorina tied the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles to move to 18-5 this season.  Angie Torres would be the next CU player to come off the court to put the Aggies ahead of the Mustangs 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-1 win in the four-slot.  Mathilde Thibaudat pushed CU one point closer with a six-slot 7-5, 6-1 victory, and Zhenia Shviadok clinched the championship taking the first set in the three-slot 6-2 and taking the second set in a tiebreaker 7-6.

Cameron improves to 21-3 while the Mustangs fall to 18-9.

The teams await selection into the NCAA Championship with the selection show airing Tuesday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. (CT) on NCAA.com.
