Lone Star Conference Champion Angelo State had nine total selections on the All-LSC women’s soccer team announced Thursday evening at the championship banquet in San Angelo, Texas.
ASU had four first-teamers, four second-team honorees and one honorable mention selection to headline the awards after winning its third LSC title. The Rambelles recognition included five individual awards. Trenadey Scott took home Player of the Year and Forward of the Year honors, while Sammy Cude was tabbed Goalkeeper of the Year, Cassandra Moosburger earned co-Newcomer of the Year acclaim and Travis McCorkle was named Coach of the Year for the fourth time in the last five years.
Texas A&M-Commerce had six selections with four on the first team and two on the second squad. The Lions also claimed three individual honors with Defensive Player of the Year Delaney Bunselmeyer, Midfielder of the Year Michelle Kotlik, and Freshman of the Year Leslie Campuzano.
Midwestern State had seven honorees including three first-teamers.
Eastern New Mexico’s Ariel Lopez was tabbed co-Newcomer of the Year to lead four Greyhounds recognized.
West Texas A&M had six selections, while Texas Woman's and UT Permian Basin had three.
The first team consisted of ASU’s Scott, Cude, Callie Smith, and Elizabeth Rodriguez; A&M-C’s Bunselmeyer, Kotlik, Jazsmin Coronado, and Sophie Haywood; MSU’s Micah Wilson, Destinee Williamson, and Hanna Mattinson; WT’s Cheyenne Orozco, ENMU’s Keyara Zuniga; and TWU’s Chelsea Martin.
Overall, 38 student-athletes were recognized with the all-conference honors program. The all-LSC was selected by the LSC’s head coaches.
