MSU’s Krtolica tops men’s basketball academic honors

Midwestern State’s Nemanja Krtolica was named Academic Player of the Year to headline the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Men’s Basketball Team, that was announced Wednesday by league officials at the LSC Awards Banquet in Allen, Texas.
Krtolica has played in 27 games averaging 2.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 12.6 minutes per game for the Mustangs.  The sophomore notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds earlier this season against Our Lady of the Lake.
To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have reached sophomore status and carry at least a 3.30 grade point average. The All-Academic Team is selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement.
Joining Krtolica on the squad was West Texas A&M’s Eric Golightly Jr. and Ryan Quaid, Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Thomas Diaz, and Western New Mexico’s Emery Range.
Diaz was recognized for the second straight year.
