Lubbock Christian University junior Grace Foster was named Lone Star Conference Women's Basketball Academic Player of the Year and leads the five-player 2024 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team announced by the Conference on Wednesday (March 6).
A junior from Childress, Texas, Foster is a criminal justice major with a 4.00 grade-point average and earns All-Academic Team honors for a second consecutive year (2023). She has been cited for LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition. The 2023-24 LSC Preseason Player of the Year, Foster leads the LSC free throw percentage (.897) and ranks fourth in scoring (16.0 ppg).
Foster is joined on the 2024 LSC Women's Basketball All-Academic team by a pair of two-time academic team members: Angelo State's Sawyer Lloyd and Texas Woman's Ashley Ingram. UT Tyer's Ella Bradley and Madeline Stephens from ASU complete the academic honorees.
The LSC Women's Basketball All-Academic team is selected by the conference sports information directors and recognizes individuals for high-level athletic and academic achievement. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have played in at least 50 percent of their team's contests; reached sophomore athletic and academic standing; completed at least one full academic year at the nominating institution; and have a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average over their collegiate career.
