Sports Information Students honored by LSC
Six sports information students were recognized by the Lone Star Conference on Monday as the league announced its first ever Sports Information Student Academic Award winners for 2006-07.
Each academic year the LSC will recognize sports information students who devote countless hours to assist with the operation of the athletics department while also finding the time to excel in the classroom. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, sports information students must carry at least a 3.20 grade point average with a minimum of 24 semester hours at the nominating institution. The qualifications mirror those required of student-athletes to gain LSC All-Academic recognition.
This year's recipients represent six of the LSC's 15 member institutions, with Cameron, Eastern New Mexico, Southeastern Oklahoma, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's each honoring one student.
This year's LSC Sports Information Student Academic Award recipients are:
Cameron: Mehgan Goforth.
Eastern New Mexico: Dustin Collums.
Southeastern Oklahoma: Destiny Brown.
Tarleton State: Whitney Carter.
Texas A&M-Commerce: Brandon Holland.
Texas Woman's: Robin Hawkins.
