ACU, TAMUK chosen for NCAA Baseball regional
Abilene Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville were selected to play in the NCAA Division II South Central Region baseball tournament, which begins Thursday at Ferriss Field on the campus of Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss.
TAMUK, the Lone Star Conference champions, are the No. 6 seed, while ACU is the fourth seed in the double-elimination six-team event May 15-18. The Wildcats are making their eighth appearance and seventh in the last nine years.
Rounding out the field is host Delta State, Southern Arkansas, West Alabama and Ouachita Baptist.
The eight regional champions will advance to the NCAA Division II College World Series May 24-31 at GCS Park in Sauget, Ill. GCS Park is home to the Frontier League's Gateway Grizzlies. The park is located just outside the St. Louis, Mo., metropolitan area.
