of its first-ever North Division title. Markus averaged 17.5
points and 3.5 rebounds a game while shooting a phenomenal 85.7
percent (12-of-14) from the field, including a sizzling 90.0

14-point home win over Southeastern Oklahoma.
LSC South Women's
Emily Brister, West Texas A&M University
West Texas A&M University, Jr., G, Amarillo, Texas/Amarillo
HS
Brister set two new school records this week as No. 16 West Texas
A&M improved to a league-best 13-1 in Lone Star Conference play
with wins over Abilene Christian and Texas Woman's. The Amarillo,
Texas, native set a new scoring record as she broke former Lady
Buff Celeste Stevenson's 1,988 career points mark and also became
the first Lady Buffs to ever score more than 2,000 points in a
career. After averaging 20.0 points this week, Brister has 2,008
career points. She recorded a double-double in each game, as she
had 25 points and 12 rebounds against ACU and 15 points and 13
rebounds against TWU; her point tallies came on 14-of-37 (.378)

10-of-15 (.667) made free throws.
LSC North Men's
Leslie Malone, Cameron University
Jr., Forward, Lithonia, Ga./Stone Mountain High
School

up 30+ scoring numbers in both of CU's games. Malone recorded his
16th double-double of the season in CU's overtime win on the road
at Texas A&M-Commerce, finishing with 33 points and 11
rebounds. He narrowly missed out on a double-double in Cameron's
last-second loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State, recording 31
points and 8 rebounds. Malone has also had a great week defensively
as he recorded 9 steals, 6 of which came against a very tough SWOSU
Bulldog squad. Malone led both games this week in scoring and total
field goals made. In the CU-SWOSU match-up, Malone had a chance to
send the game into overtime but his half-court shot as time expired
barely rimmed out. Malone had a very solid week on both sides of
the ball.
