A total of 10 players have been suspended as the result of an incident at the January 27 men's basketball game in Lawton, Okla., between Southeastern Oklahoma and Cameron, the Lone Star Conference announced today.

   In conjunction with the altercation, which occurred on the playing court after the game ended, CU has suspended five players for the remainder of the season and another for two games, while SE suspended one player for six games, two players for two contests and another for one game.

   Commissioner Stan Wagnon has adopted these sanctions as appropriate and said the conference will take no further action.

   "The acts of individuals involved in this incident clearly fell short of our expectations for competition in the LSC, and I want to be clear that we will not tolerate this type of behavior," said Wagnon. "That said, I am pleased with how the administrations at Cameron and Southeastern Oklahoma have held themselves accountable and sent a clear message that these actions are not acceptable at their fine institutions."
