The Lone Star Conference will hold a football preseason media day on Thursday, July 31, at the Crown Plaza Suites in Dallas.

      With the 2008 season fast approaching, all 13 football head coaches will be in Dallas for a luncheon with the media.  During the event, LSC officials will announce the preseason poll and players of the year.

      The day begins at 11:00 a.m. with registration followed by lunch, a brief program, remarks from each football coach and an open interview session.  LSC Commissioner Stan Wagnon will preview the upcoming season as well.

      Additionally, select volleyball, soccer and cross country coaches will be on hand and the preseason choices for those sports will be announced.

      The 2008 LSC football season begins Thursday, August 28, with seven league teams in action, while five other teams kick off their season on Saturday, August 30.

      West Texas A&M captured their third straight league title in 2007 with a 12-1 record overall and perfect league (9-0) and South Division (6-0) marks, while the LSC sustained its regular participation in the postseason with WTAMU and Abilene Christian both selected to play in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
