Men's Golf: Cameron in front after first day
Cameron gained four strokes in the second round to take the lead after 36 holes of play at the Lone Star Conference Championships.
The annual league event, which features 10 men's teams, is being held at WinStar Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla. Play concludes on Tuesday with final-round tee times beginning at 10:15 a.m.
CU took the lead during the second round with a four-under par 284 after shooting an even par 288 over the first 18 for a total score of 572. Peter Svajlen (-5) and Cane Shumaker (-4) led the charge to finish fourth and fifth, respectively, in the individual standings.
Northeastern State is two strokes back at 574 and Central Oklahoma is right behind them at 575. There is a three-way tie for the individual title between UCO's Zach Cleland, NSU's Jeff Cox and Texas A&M-Commerce's Pinky Hartline at six-under par 138.
