Cameron wins LSC Golf men's championship



With a 5-under par final round, Cameron ran away with the 2008 men's title at the Lone Star Conference Golf Championships as play concluded at WinStar Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla.

At 9-under, the Aggies (288-284-283=855) earned its sixth conference championship and first since 2004, while also ending Northeastern State's reign over the last three years.

The RiverHawks and Abilene Christian finished tied for second with a 1-under 863 in the team standings, while Central Oklahoma (865) was fourth.

Texas A&M-Commerce's Pinky Hartline edged NSU's Jeff Cox (210) and CU's Peter Svajlen (210) for individual medalist honors with a 7-under par 71 on the day and a 209 total.

The men's all-tournament team included Hartline, Cox, Svajlen, ACU's Cyril Buoniol, UCO's Zach Cleland and CU's Cane Shumaker.
