Women's Golf: TSU wins West Regional
Tarleton State won the 2008 NCAA Division II West Regional for the second straight year to earn a spot in the NCAA Championships field.
The TexAnns shot a school-record 291 in the final round to win the event by four strokes and claim a remarkable tenth tournament title this season.
Shraddhanjali Singh also repeated as the West Regional individual champion after recording a three-under par 69 in the third round to finish with a total of 218 for the tournament.
TSU shot a 318 in the first round before tallying 301 on Tuesday to move into second place.
Northeastern State's Stephanie Bird (72-74-75=221) also earned a spot in the Championships with a second-place finish at the regional.
The TexAnns and Bird will play in the championships, May 13-16, at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston as part of the NCAA Spring Championships Festival.
