ASU, ACU to play for LSC Softball Championship



Angelo State and Abilene Christian will play at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the championship game of the Lone Star Conference Softball Championship Tournament at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex in Durant, Okla.

      The Rambelles advanced to the title game by defeating SOSU, 4-3, in the winner's bracket game, while the Wildcats played their way through the loser's bracket to earn a spot in the championship game with three comeback victories.

      ACU started the day with a 3-2 win over Tarleton State in eight innings before topping Midwestern State 7-6 and Southeastern Oklahoma 12-10 in eight innings.

      ASU and ACU have played three times this season with the Rambelles winning two of those meetings.

      The victor will earn the LSC's automatic bid into the South Central Regional which will be hosted by ASU in San Angelo, Texas, May 7-11.
