Five Lone Star Conference softball teams were selected to play in the 2008 NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament.  

LSC Champion Angelo State  is the top seed in the event, which will take place May 7-11 at the ASU Softball Complex on the campus of Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

Southeastern Oklahoma is the No. 3 seed, while Abilene Christian is fifth, Central Oklahoma is sixth and Midwestern State is seventh.  St. Mary's, St. Edward's and the RMAC automatic qualifier, which will be determined later today, round out the eight-team regional field.

The tournament starts on Wednesday with four games beginning at 11 a.m.

The winner advances to the 2008 Division II Softball Championship, May 14-17, to be held in Houston, Texas, as part of the Spring Championships Festival.
