Season ends for ASU at Softball National Championship

Angelo State had its season come to an end Sunday with a 10-0, five-inning loss to Alabama-Huntsville in the semifinals of the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship Finals in Salem, Va.

ASU tops Winona State to advance at Softball National Championship Finals
5/23/09 - Angelo State topped Winona State, 7-3, in an elimination game at the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship Finals in Salem, Va. Macy Baker and Laura Lopez each hit home runs to send the Rambelles (50-9) to the national semifinals for the second time in school history. ASU needs two wins over Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday to earn a spot in the championship game Monday. The first game is at 1 p.m. CST with the second game at 5 p.m. if needed.


Softball National Championship: ASU falls in extra innings
5/22/09 - Angelo State fell to top-ranked North Georgia, 3-2 in 11 innings at the NCAA Division II Softball National Championship Finals in Salem, Va. The loss sends the Rambelles (49-9) into the loser’s bracket where they will face the winner of the LeMoyne/Winona State contest at 5 p.m. CST on Saturday.

5/21/09 - Angelo State topped Indianapolis, 3-1, in their opening game at the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship Finals in Salem, Va. The Rambelles (49-8) next game is Friday at 11 a.m. against the winner of today’s North Georgia/Dixie State contest.
