Abilene Christian's Brian Joiner and Aina Rafolo earned Lone Star Conference Tennis Player of the Week honors for their performances last week, the league office announced today.

Men's Player of the Week
Brian Joiner, Abilene Christian University
Fr., Lubbock, Texas/Coronado High School    
Joiner helped the 13th-ranked Wildcats to a 2-1 record this past week.  The freshman won all three of his singles matches and went 2-1 in doubles play.  In ACU's 7-2 win over Seminole State (Okla.) on Friday, Joiner won at No. 4 singles against Anton Mateev (6-2, 6-3) and also teamed with Ryan Hudson to win at No. 2 doubles.  In ACU's heartbreaking 5-4 loss to No. 24 Incarnate Word on Saturday, Joiner won at No. 5 singles against Rudy Obregon (6-3, 7-6) and lost a closely contested doubles match (9-8) at No. 2 with teammate Hutton Jones Jr.  Later on Saturday against New Mexico Military Institute, Joiner helped the Wildcats to an 8-1 win as he won a three-set singles match (6-3, 1-6, 6-2) at No. 4 and also paired with Luke Hawk to win at No. 2 doubles.  For the year Joiner has an overall singles record of 19-2.  His combined doubles record is 16-4.

Women's Player of the Week
Aina Rafolo, Abilene Christian University
Sr., No. 2 singles, No. 1 doubles, Antananarivo, Madagascar/Glade Christian Academy
Rafolo helped the Wildcats go 4-0 this past week.  The senior all-American from Madagascar was 3-0 in singles matches as well as 3-0 in doubles play this week.  In ACU's 5-2 win over Division I Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday, Rafolo knocked off Noelia Leon at No. 1 singles and also teamed with Meagan Brown to win at No. 1 doubles.  Her play also helped ACU go 2-0 on Saturday.  In the Wildcats' 7-2 win over Incarnate Word, Rafolo topped Alba Passanissi at No. 2 singles and again teamed with Brown to win at No. 1 doubles.  Then in ACU's 9-0 win over Central Oklahoma, Rafolo won at No. 2 singles against Julie Vo and also won at No. 1 doubles with Brown.  For the year Rafolo has an over singles record of 12-3.  Her combined doubles record is 16-0.
