Men's Tennis: Hudson tops all-conference awards
Abilene Christian's Ryan Hudson was named Lone Star Conference men's tennis Player of the year on Thursday as the annual awards were announced.
Hudson was the choice for men's top player and earned first team All-LSC honors as well.
The all-conference honors were voted upon by the head coaches at each LSC member institution for the first time in 2008. Previously, the results of the LSC Individual Championships Tournament determined the team.
Individual awards went to East Central's Cristobal Nunez and Southeastern Oklahoma's Benjamin Disney for Sportsmanship Player of the Year, Midwestern State's Vjekoslav Stipanic and SOSU's Nikita Ryshchenko for Freshman of the Year, Cameron's Daniel Pazos for Newcomer of the Year and the Aggies James Helvey for Coach of the Year.
A total of 21 student-athletes from five member institutions were recognized through the LSC's all-conference program.
