David Noble spent over two decades as the men's track & field coach (1972-82, 1985-99) at Angelo State and added six seasons at the helm of the women's program (1994-99).
While at ASU, Noble coached athletes to more than 150 All-America performances and coached six Academic All-Americans. He guided the Rams to 17 top 10 national finishes and the Rambelles to six-straight top 20 national finishes as well.
Noble directed eight LSC championship teams during his career and was an eight-time LSC Coach of the Year. In 1988, he was honored as the NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year. The annual ASU met, held each spring, bears his name.
Noble was inducted into the LSC Hall of Honor in 2004.
