Bailey Vrazel led the Texas Woman’s softball team through what was undoubtedly the most successful four-season stretch of the Pioneers’ Division II era.

Vrazel’s name is an easy one to find in both the TWU and Lone Star Conference record books, as she earned four All-America selections during her career at TWU – being named to the NFCA/Louisville Slugger All-America First Team as a freshman and being named a Daktronics All-America selection in her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. Vrazel was also a recipient of the 2013 NCAA Elite 89 Award, a three-time NFCA and Daktronics All-South Central Region selection, and was named the 2011 Daktronics South Central Region Player of the Year. A two-time winner of the NCAA Division II Golden Shoe award, Vrazel’s success on the field carried over into the classroom, where she was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection – including being named the 2014 CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year.

A four-time First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection, Vrazel was a member of the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in each semester she was eligible, a three-time LSC Hitter of the Week, and the LSC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in 2011 and the league’s Academic Player of the Year in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Vrazel was a two-time LSC Fred Jacoby Female Academic Athlete of the Year and a top-9 finalist for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award in 2014-15.

Vrazel holds the LSC single-season record in at-bats with 236 in 2013, the league’s single-season and career record in hits (94, 318), tied the LSC single-game record for stolen bases with five – twice, and holds the season (75) and career (247) conference records as well. During the 2012 season, Vrazel stole 59 consecutive bases, one of a laundry list of TWU records. Vrazel holds TWU single-game records in hits and stolen bases; season records in at-bats, runs scored, hits, stolen bases, games played, and games started; and career records in at-bats, runs scored, hits, walks, on-base percentage, and stolen bases. Her 18-game hitting streak in the 2012 season is tied for a TWU record, while she remains the only Pioneer to hit an inside the park grand slam during her junior campaign.

Vrazel earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and is now a physical therapist.  She resides in her hometown of Danbury, Texas, with her husband and two daughters.
