Four student-athletes earned Lone Star Conference Basketball
Player of the Week honors for their efforts last week, league
officials announced today.
LSC BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
LSC North Women's
Lucy Ramon, Southwestern Oklahoma State University
R-Fr., C, Mustang, Okla./Mustang
Ramon averaged 24 points and shot better than 54% from the field in
a pair of SWOSU victories over Texas A&M-Commerce and Cameron.
Ramon scored a season-best 31 points against Cameron and has now
scored in double figures 18-of-20 games.
LSC South Women's
Kristee Davidson, Abilene Christian University
Jr., Forward, Fort Worth, Texas/Fort Worth Christian High
School
Davidson has played some of the best basketball of her career in
the last two weeks as she has helped ACU to a 4-2 record in the LSC
South Division. ... Davidson averaged 21.5 points per game last
week as ACU beat Tarleton State (75-58) at home and Texas
A&M-Kingsville (67-63) on the road. ... Davidson scored a
career-high 26 points and had four steals in the Wildcats' win over
Tarleton State. ... She had 17 points, three rebounds and three
steals in the Wildcats' win over Kingsville.
LSC North Men's
Sam Belt, University of Central Oklahoma
Sr., Guard/Forward, Broken Arrow, Okla/Broken Arrow
Senior star led the streaking Bronchos to a pair of LSC North
Division wins, averaging 26.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0
assists. He shot 53.3 percent (16- of-30) from the field,
including 60.0 percent (6-of-10) from 3-point range, and 88.2
percent (15-of-17) from the line. Belt had 26 points and 11
rebounds in an 87-77 home win over Northeastern State, then
had 27 points and eight boards in just 23 minutes of a 105-71 road
rout of Southeastern Oklahoma. He became the school's
all-time leader in made free throws, surpassing a 43-year-old
record.
LSC South Men's
Avery Patterson, Tarleton State University
Sr., G, Kannapolis, N.C./A.L. Brown HS
Patterson led the No. 17 Tarleton Texans to two victories this
week, averaging 25.5 points per game while shooting .556 from the
floor and .526 from the three-point arc... Patterson scored 26
points in the win over Abilene Christian, hitting six-of-nine
three-pointers and shooting .625 from the field... He also recorded
four defensive rebounds in the win at ACU.... Patterson had 25
points at home against Angelo State, shooting 50 percent from the
field and pulling down six boards... With the game tied at 63 with
59 seconds left, Patterson nailed a three to put Tarleton up
66-63... A free throw by the Texan with 13 seconds left put
Tarleton ahead 69-67and help the Texans to the win.... Patterson
had four assists and three steals in the two games and led the team
in three-point percentage for the week.
