West Texas A&M put together the best round to take a
three-stroke lead after the first 18 holes at the Lone Star
Conference Women’s Golf Championships. The annual league
event, which features 10 women's teams, is being held at WinStar
Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla.
The field battled cold and wet weather conditions Sunday at the
par 72, 5,915-yard course.
The Lady Buffs finished with a 30 over par 318 for the early
advantage over Tarleton State and Northeastern State. The
TexAnns and RiverHawks are tied for second place with a 321.
Angelo State and Central Oklahoma are tied for fourth place with
identical total scores of 322.
Individually, UCO’s Cassy Knight is atop the leader board
with a two-over 74. The Bronchos Raelynn Farthing is in
second place (76), followed by ASU’s Raelyn Smith and
Tarleton’s Katy Ward, who are tied for third place (77).
