Six teams are still in contention for the title after the first day of play Thursday at the Lone Star Conference Softball Championship which continues Friday at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex in Durant, Okla.
Angelo State, the No. 2 seed from the South and East Central, the fourth-seed from the North, will meet in the winner's bracket game at 3 p.m. with the winner advancing to the championship game.
Central Oklahoma plays Southeastern Oklahoma and top seeds West Texas A&M and Midwestern State square off in elimination games at 12 p.m. WTAMU and SE dropped their opening games on Thursday but came back to win their second games to stay in the championship.
