ACU, MSU picked in Cross Country Preseason Polls

Abilene Christian and Midwestern State are the favorites to capture the 2010 Lone Star Conference men’s and women’s cross country championships, respectively, according to the league’s preseason poll announced on Tuesday.

The Wildcats received 20 first-place votes for a total of 217 points in the men’s poll, while the Mustangs were the top choice on 23 of 28 ballots for 359 points on the women’s side.

In 2009, ACU’s men won their 19th straight conference crown, while the MSU women earned their second title.

Ten men’s teams and 13 women’s teams start their season in September, while the postseason begins with the LSC Championships hosted by Abilene Christian, on November 6, 2010.
