West Texas A&M had 13 first-team selections and five individual award winners recognized Thursday when the annual Lone Star Conference football awards were announced by LSC officials.

      The Buffaloes had seven players on the top offense and six more on the first-team defense.  WT earned several individual accolades with Offensive Player of the Year (J.W. Rollins award) Dustin Vaughan, Offensive Lineman of the Year Craig Watts, Freshman of the Year Patric Youngman, Linebacker of the Year Taylor McCuller, and Defensive Back of the Year Curtis Slater.

      Texas A&M-Commerce had three first-teamers including double-winner Charlie Tuaau, who was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year (J.V. Sikes award) and Defensive Lineman of the Year, and  Receiver of the Year Vernon Johnson.

      Midwestern State’s Keidrick Jackson was named Offensive Back of the Year to lead the five Mustang first-teamers.

      LSC co-champion Eastern New Mexico had three on the top teams with Josh Lynn receiving Coach of the Year recognition.

      Overall, 101 student-athletes were recognized by the LSC's postseason awards program, with 31 players named to the first team, 35 on the second team and another 35 gaining honorable mention. The all-conference honors were selected by the head coaches of the seven league teams.
