FRISCO, Texas – St. Edward’s Ryan Garza earned Academic Player of the Year honors to top the Lone Star Conference men’s basketball academic honors announced by league officials at the LSC Awards Banquet in Frisco, Texas on Wednesday.
On the All-Academic with Garza was teammate August Haas, Cameron’s Brock Schreiner, DBU’s Chandler Jacobs and Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Will Chayer.
To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have reached sophomore status and carry at least a 3.30 grade point average. The All-Academic Team is selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement.
