LSC Women’s Basketball Championship Central
The women's bracket for the 2021 Lone Star Conference Basketball Championship is set following the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday evening with the top eight teams securing berths based on the league’s basketball point rating system (PRS).
The
point rating system is replacing winning percentage for the LSC’s basketball conference standings, divisional standings and conference tournament seeding in 2020-21.
The championship will be held March 2-5-6 with quarterfinal games taking place on four campus sites on March 2 followed by the four winning teams advancing to the final site at the highest remaining seed on Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6.
Lubbock Christian wrapped up its second consecutive LSC Women’s Basketball Championship and its first LSC West Division title after completing the regular season undefeated. Texas A&M-Commerce claimed the North Division title to make it back-to-back division championships. Texas A&M International won the South Division championship, marking its first in the LSC. Each of the three division champions earned an automatic berth to the conference tournament.
LCU earned the No. 1 seed with a 4.308 rating in the conference rankings. TAMUC secured the No. 2 seed with a rating of 3.962 followed by West Texas A&M (3.667) as the No. 3 seed and Cameron (3.625) in the No. 4 seed. Midwestern State (3.618) is the No. 5 seed followed by No. 6 Texas A&M International (3.538), No. 7 Oklahoma Christian (3.514) and No. 8 St. Mary’s (2.929).
Ticket pricing and availability will be set by the host institution for each game in accordance with campus and local COVID-19 protocols, and conference championship policies.
All seven tournament games will be broadcast exclusively on the LSC Digital Network at
www.lonestarconferencenetwork.com or on the LSC Digital Network OTT app. Fans will be able to purchase an LSC Basketball Championship Day Pass for $10 that will provide access to all men’s and women’s basketball tournament games for 24 hours starting from the time of purchase.
The winner of the tournament will be named the Lone Star Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament Champion and earn the league’s automatic qualification to the 2021 NCAA Division II South Central Regional held March 12-13-15 in Canyon, Texas and hosted by West Texas A&M. The winner of the South Central Region will advance to the Elite Eight to be held March 23-24-26 in Columbus, Ohio.
