All three nationally-ranked LSC baseball teams went undefeated last week as No. 1 Angelo State, No. 11 West Texas &M and No. 21 UT Tyler all picked up conference-series sweeps. Cameron, Oklahoma Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville all secured series wins during the week.

LSC BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The LSC Baseball Championship will be a two-week tournament featuring eight teams with the opening round on campus. The winners of each opening round series will advance to a double-elimination tournament played the following weekend. The winner of the postseason tournament will be recognized as the LSC Tournament Champion and receive the conference’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA postseason.

Jordan Gochenour, UT Tyler, SO, Management, INF, Houston, Texas, Houston Christian HS
Jordan Gochenour was a vital part of the UT Tyler offense last week as the No. 21 Patriots swept St. Edward’s on the road in Austin. The sophomore hit .429 in the series and brought in six RBI while scoring six runs of his own. He opened the three-game set with a 2-for-5 performance that included a walk, an RBI and three runs scored as UTT pulled out an 11-10 win. In the second game of the series, Gochenour was again 2-for-5 drawing a walk in the 9th with the bases loaded to bring in what proved to be the game-winning run as the Patriots held on for a 13-12 win. The Houston native then recorded two home runs in the third and final game of the series and posted a game-high three RBI in an 8-2 win. He slugged 1.071 for the week and reached base at a .529 clip.
PITCHER
Benjamin Elder, Angelo State, JR, Communications, LHP, Chico, Calif., Pleasant Valley HS
Benjamin Elder pitched his second straight complete-game shutout as the No. 1 Rams blanked St. Mary’s in the second game of a three-game sweep. Elder scattered seven hits over nine innings to hold a high-powered Rattler offense to a .218 batting average in the game. The junior rang up four strikeouts and allowed just two walks in his second win of the season. Elder has now thrown 22 straight innings without giving up a run, setting a new program record. In 22.1 innings thrown this season, the Chico, Calif. native has allowed just one run and leads the league in earned run average at 0.40.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Dylan Mackin, St. Edward's, was strong in a big weekend series against No. 21 UT Tyler, posting six hits and one walk in nine at-bats with three doubles and one triple as the Hilltoppers scored 24 runs over three games. Mackin hit .667 in the series and slugged 1.222 with his three extra-base hits.
Kennedy Badgett, West Texas A&M, was a force at the plate for the No. 11 Buffs this past weekend in a Lone Star Conference series sweep of UT Permian Basin at Wilder Park in Canyon. The Arvada, Colorado product hit .500 on the weekend with six runs scored, registering a double and his first home run of the season to drive in five RBI for a slugging percentage of 1.000. Badgett also drew a pair of walks for an on-base clip of .615 while registering 28 putouts and two assists as he split time between first base and behind the plate for a perfect fielding percentage.
Beau Williams, Cameron, had a solid weekend at the plate for the Aggies, hitting .462 with five RBI as CU won the series against Eastern New Mexico. After recording a hit in the series opener, the sophomore second baseman went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored in game two. Williams saved his best for last as he wrapped up the weekend with a 3-for-5 game with two runs scored and five RBI, leading CU to a 10-6 win to secure the series victory. On top of his six hits, the business major also had a pair of walks and did not strikeout while setting the table at the top of the Aggie lineup.
Cole Lee, Oklahoma Christian, homered twice as Oklahoma Christian took a series win at Texas A&M International. He went 1-for-3 and drove in a run as the Eagles took the series opener 3-0, then busted out in a 19-1 win in the series finale with the first multi-homer game of his college career, driving in three runs and scoring three times. His homers came during a four-run fourth inning and a five-run sixth inning.
Ryan McGowen, St. Mary's, after not hitting a home run in his first two years, Ryan McGowen hit two in back-to-back games - including one in the first game of the Angelo State series. McGowen recorded three of the team's 13 RBIs in the three-game series and had a slugging percentage of .900 for the week.
Gabe Rodery, Oklahoma Christian, put together one of his finest performances as an Eagle in a 3-0 win at Texas A&M International, pitching a complete-game four-hit shutout in the series opener. In his longest career outing, he allowed only one extra-base hit – a ninth-inning double – and only one TAMIU baserunner advanced as far as third base. Rodery struck out three batters and walked only one while recording the fifth (and longest) complete-game shutout of his collegiate career.
Chris Rodriguez, West Texas A&M, continued to dominate out of the bullpen this past weekend for the No. 11 Buffaloes as they swept past UT Permian Basin at Wilder Park to run their win streak to five games. The El Paso product tossed 2.2 frames of no-hit baseball out of the bullpen in Game 2, walking just two with five strikeouts including a pair with the bases loaded and one out against his first two batters in relief. Rodriguez has now registered an incredible 16 K's over his seven innings of work this season with an opposing batting average of just .179.
Michael Womack, Cameron, recorded a stellar start in game one of the Aggies’ series against Eastern New Mexico on Friday. The Lawton native struck out five ENMU hitters and gave up just one hit during his 6.2 innings of work. After getting the first two batters out in the seventh, Womack was pulled with his team still leading 1-0. His .091 opposing batting average currently leads all of the Lone Star Conference.
Blake Holub, St. Edward's, had a strong outing surrendering no earned runs in 5.1 innings against No. 1 Angelo State. Holub struck out three ASU batters and held the league’s top-hitting lineup to just .238 at the plate.
Logan Garza, Texas A&M-Kingsville, threw a gem in his first career home start as he struck at 12 Lions and allowed only two hits and one run for the no-decision. He had a no-hitter broken up in the top of the seventh, struck out multiple batters in five of his seven innings of work, and sat down six of the seven leadoff hitters he faced. Garza's 12 strikeouts were the most by a Javelina since 2018.
Garrett Arredondo, UT Tyler, struck out seven in his 6.0 innings of work to record the win for the Patriots in No. 21 UT Tyler's three-game sweep of St. Edward's over the weekend. He gave up just a single run in the outing to help complete the sweep of the Hilltoppers on Sunday afternoon, surrendering just five hits. Only one of those hits went for extra bases for St. Edward's as Arredondo moved his record to 1-1 on the year.
