Jeremiah Sanchez extended his singles winning streak to 12-0 on the season with wins over UAFS and No. 22 Cameron. Against Cameron, Sanchez was the last player on the court with the match tied 3-3 against CU’s Oscar del Granado. Sanchez rallied, scoring four straight points to win 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 and clinch the win for the Rattlers. Their first win over a ranked team this season. Sanchez is ranked No. 16 in the country in singles.
WOMEN’S
Dianela Rodriguez, Angelo State, SO, Marketing, Mexico City, Mexico, Prepa en Linea SEP
Dianela Rodriguez finished a perfect 2-0 in singles play on the weekend, helping the Belles to wins over DBU and 17th-ranked Midwestern State to improve to 6-0 in conference play. She defeated DBU 6-1, 6-4 in straight sets at the No. 3 position before clinching the match against the Mustangs with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 for the fourth point in the dual.

SELECTED OTHER PERFORMANCES
Aditya Iyer, UT Permian Basin, was just named the ITA UTR National Player of the Week after taking all four LSC matches he competed in. Playing the No. 2 singles for the Falcons last week, Iyer had a come-from-behind three-set win against UT Tyler before dropping just three games against Western New Mexico. In doubles action, Iyer and partner Paul Schwieger had a sensational week, winning at No. 1 doubles twice. Iyer has won his last three singles matches overall.
Gonzalo Fernandez Gil, UT Tyler, produced a perfect week as he led UT Tyler to a pair of LSC road wins last week over UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico. He won both of his matches at No. 3 singles in straight sets, and he also teamed up with Jorge Sala Frigeri at No. 2 doubles for 7-5 (vs UTPB) and 6-4 (vs WNMU) wins. He started the road trip with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles against UTPB and closed out the trip with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles against WNMU.
Jonathan Vega, Western New Mexico, went undefeated on the weekend at number one singles as WNMU took on UTPB and UT Tyler in Silver City, New Mexico. Vega won both his singles matches in straight sets against Enrique Sanchez of UTPB and No. 40 nationally-ranked Egor Shestakov of UT Tyler.
Tiffany Hollebeck, Midwestern State, recently achieving ranking in NCAA Division II in singles and doubles, went undefeated for the week as Midwestern State took a 1-1 record. The senior and doubles partner, Casie Curry, took a 6-0 victory over Laura Montalvo and Maya Donkor at the top singles spot in the team’s match against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The No. 14 duo also collected a narrow 7-5 win over No. 13 ranked Valentina Gonzales and Ena Ovcina of Angelo State. For singles play, No. 34 Hollebeck defeated No. 13 Gonzales in a close 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 battle. The Plano, Texas native also notched a 6-0, 6-4 gain over Donkor to help the team to a 7-0 win. She has posted a three-match win streak in both singles and doubles.
Ashley Penshorn, St. Mary’s, went 4-0 on the week with wins over Arkansas Fort Smith and Cameron. The junior moved her singles record to 15-2 on the season, playing at the No. 1 line all year. Penshorn is currently ranked at No. 25 in the country in singles action.
Tanvikhaa Saravanan, UT Tyler, helped lead UT Tyler to a pair of LSC road victories last week, winning both of her singles matches in straight sets against UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico while going 1-1 in doubles play. Saravanan posted a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles and a 6-2 No. 2 doubles win against UTPB while winning at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-3) against Western New Mexico. The Patriots have won 4 straight in LSC play and are now 11-3 on the season.
Taylor Leslie, DBU, won both of her singles matches at the No. 2 position last week to improve to 17-1 on the season. Leslie also teamed up with Kate Daugherty in line 1 doubles to defeat the #13 ranked doubles team in the nation from Angelo State in Valentina Gonzales & Ena Ovcina, 6-2. For the week, Leslie and Daugherty posted a 2-1 mark in line 1 doubles.
