UT Tyler has won the 2021 Lone Star Conference Championship with a 27-1 league mark.
The LSC Softball Championship field of 10 teams is set with seeding to be finalized after the regular season wraps up this week. Oklahoma Christian will be the top seed and host the championship on May 13-14-15 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Angelo State has claimed the second seed, with the seeding to be determined for Texas A&M-Commerce, West Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M International, Lubbock Christian, Cameron, St. Mary's, and St. Edward's.
The top 10 teams will play a single-elimination tournament to determine the LSC Tournament Champion, who will receive the league’s automatic qualification into the NCAA postseason. Note, UTT is not eligible to compete in the 2021 LSC softball tournament due to their NCAA Division II provisional membership status.

Mykayla Stroud, Angelo State, JR, Kinesiology, Infield, Aledo, Texas, Aledo HS
Stroud had a very impressive weekend for No. 23 Angelo State in their sweep of Lubbock Christian on Sunday. Stroud finished the doubleheader with a 1.000 batting average, registering four hits and two RBI for the Rambelles. The junior from Aledo scored two runs and registered a 1.000 slugging and on-base percentages. Stroud posted four put outs with four assists, along with three stolen bases in three attempts.

Foster threw UT Tyler's second no-hitter of the season on Saturday afternoon to clinch the Lone Star Conference Championship for the Patriots with a 1-0 win over No. 9 Texas A&M-Commerce. Foster struck out seven along the way, keeping the Lions out of the hit column and was just two walks away from a perfect game over her seven innings of work. The 1-0 win in game one was the first of two victories for the Patriots, clinching the title for UTT in the program's first full season competing in the league.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Cinthia Garcia, West Texas A&M, had an impressive doubleheader against Eastern New Mexico as the redshirt freshman hit 1.000 with three doubles and a home run for 4 RBI and 11 total bases. In the series opener, she went 2-for-2 with a double as WT won 10-0 in five innings. She was a perfect 3-for-3 in the nightcap including a two-run home run to win the game in the bottom of the fifth.
Kaylee McQuillan, St. Edward's, led the Hilltoppers to a 1-1 weekend at St. Mary's. She had four hits in seven at bats with no strikeouts on the weekend.
Jacey Henry, Midwestern State, played a huge role in the Mustang's sweep of Texas Woman's in their final games of the season. She notched four hits in eight at-bats to gain a .500 average and on base percentage. The senior put up a double and three RBI home run from behind the plate. Henry recorded two runs throughout the two game stretch and added a stolen base in her 1.000 slugging percent performance.
Victoria Aldridge, St. Mary's, helped St. Mary's to a split with St. Edward's this weekend. The junior went 4-for-5 in the second game against the Hilltoppers, batting in the leadoff spot. Aldridge drive in one run and stole three bases in a 2-1 extra inning victory. Aldridge is hitting .413 in conference play and is a perfect 5-of-5 on on stolen bases.
Mak Dominguez, UT Tyler, hit .429 in the Patriot sweep of #9 Texas A&M-Commerce, clinching the Lone Star Conference Regular Season Championship for UT Tyler. She had three hits between the two games and tied for a team high two RBI in the 1-0 and 8-3 victories for the Patriots. Two of those hits went for extra bases as the Austin, Texas native slugged .714 for the weekend and played a key part in UT Tyler's first LSC Championship in the program's first full season competing in the league.
Kyra Lair, West Texas A&M, became the second Lady Buff in program history to throw a perfect game as the Canyon native struck out nine in WT’s 10-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday afternoon at Schaeffer Park. The redshirt sophomore needed only 59 pitches to recorded WT’s first perfect game since Feb. 7, 2009.
Alex McLennan, St. Mary's, tossed a complete game on Sunday to lead the Rattlers to an extra inning victory over St. Edward's. The senior allowed five hits and just one run while striking out three batters to earn her eighth win of the season. McLennan now has eight wins and eight saves on the year.
Jocelyn Bright, Cameron, showed that she could be one of the top pitchers in the LSC in two strong outings against top-10 ranked opponents this week as the Aggies split doubleheaders against Oklahoma Christian and Texas A&M-Commerce. At No. 6 OC, Bright carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning before giving up a homerun, one of just two hits given up by the first year player. She finished the game with a pair of strikeouts in the complete game win. Against the Lions, Bright struck out eight batters and gave up just one earned run on five hits in the 2-1 loss. She stranded six runners on base in another complete game outing.
Bailey Turner, Oklahoma Christian, on her Senior Day, threw a complete-game two-hitter, helping No. 6-ranked OC beat Cameron 3-1 in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday at Tom Heath Field, after the Eagles had stumbled in a 6-1 loss in the opener. Turner retired Cameron's first six batters and only allowed a pair of singles while posting her fourth complete game of the season. She struck out five batters and walked only one. After the third inning, Turner didn't allow a Cameron runner past second base.
Addi Hanna, Midwestern State, has come into stride in the latter half of the season for Midwestern State as she gains her second seven inning complete game. The freshman posted a 2.00 era for the match against Texas Woman's and held the opposition to a .208 batting average while cutting off doubles, triples, and home runs. Hanna allowed only two runs on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk for the day. This is her first win since early March as the Mustangs swept the Pioneers in both games in their final week of play.
Makayla Corbin, Angelo State, was quite effective in the circle for the Rambelles in their sweep of the Chaps on Sunday. Corbin finished with a 3.00 in two games, allowing seven hits and only three runs in seven innings of pitching. Corbin threw three strikeouts and held the Chaps to a .233 opposing batting average.
