LSC INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MEN’S TRACK
Delan Edwin, Texas A&M-Commerce, JR, Accounting, Castries, Saint Lucia
Edwin broke a school record, a meet record, and had a top four time in the country in two races on Friday at Pittsburg State. He ran a 6.69 in the 60-meter dash, which is the fastest time to date in Division II and broke the previous school record of 6.72. He also won the 200-meter dash by a time of 21.32, which set the meet record and fourth fastest in the country thus far.
MEN’S FIELD
Dodley Thermitus, Texas A&M-Commerce, JR, Kinesiology & Sports Studies, Elizabeth, N.J.
Thermitus finished in third place in the triple jump at Pittsburg State with a mark of 50-0.50 (15.25m), which ranks best in the LSC so far this season and sixth in the country. He also won the long jump event (23-11 (7.29m)) by nine inches. His event-winning mark on Friday ranks 14th in the country this season and tops in the LSC.
WOMEN’S TRACK
DeOndra Green, West Texas A&M, FR, Early Childhood Education, Montreal, Quebec, Riverdale
Green recorded the second fastest time in school history during the 60-meter finals at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational last weekend. The Montreal, Quebec native ran a personal best 7.45 to finish second overall for the provisional mark. She now ranks first in the LSC and third in NCAA Division II.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Antonija Radic, Angelo State, SR, Kinesiology, Knin, Croatia, Lovre Monti
Competing at Pittsburg State's Rumble in the Jungle, Radic took first in the women's high jump with a mark of 5-5.25 (1.66m). She also finished second in the triple jump (39-7 (12.06m)), hitting a provisional mark, and the long jump at 18-5.25 (5.62m). Nationally, she ranks 11th in the triple jump.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Tyrin Lewis, West Texas A&M, had a historic performance this past weekend at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational as the Amarillo product broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles. Lewis ran 7.77 in the finals of the event, finishing just .05 seconds behind Arizona States Jamar Marshall Jr. to take second. His provisional mark ranks him first in the Lone Star Conference and second in Division II.
Corey Perryman, UT Tyler, launched himself into the record books on Saturday afternoon at the Samford Open. Perryman was one of three Patriots to qualify for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles and he placed highest of the three with a second-place finish. Perryman ran a time of 8.21 seconds to break the school record and also set his first NCAA provisional mark of the season.
Dylan Burrows, Oklahoma Christian, at the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan., on Friday, Burrows – the 2021 LSC outdoor 800-meter champion – posted a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the indoor 800. The sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, took third in a 30-man field in 1:52.61. He later ran a leg on OC's 4x400-meter relay team that placed 10th of 24 teams in 3:24.19.
Ray Dixon, West Texas A&M, led the Buffs in the weight throw as the junior broke his previous school record at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational. The Llano, Texas native broke his own record in the weight throw where he placed fifth with a throw of 59-9 (18.21m) on his sixth attempt of the event, passing his previous record of 59-2.25 (18.04m). The Llano, Texas product now has 9-of-10 the programs top throws in the weight throw.
Chaney Martin, Oklahoma Christian, competed in four events, mostly against NCAA Division I competition, in the University of Oklahoma’s J.D. Martin Invitational and took third in the pole vault, beating five men from D-1 programs with a top mark of 15-1 (4.60m). He finished sixth out of 15 men in the long jump at 21-2 (6.45m), 12th out of 16 men in the high jump with a career-best mark of 6-0.75 (1.85m) and sixth among nine runners in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.49 seconds.
D.J. Delancy, Texas A&M-Kingsville, competed in the shotput at the FasTrak Collegiate Challenge on Saturday and performed well, logging an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark of 55-2 (16.81m) in the shot put that places him atop the LSC. In Houston, Delancy placed second behind a thrower from Rice while his toss ranks him 19th nationally.
Minna Svaerd, Texas A&M-Commerce, set the school record in the 600-yard run on Friday at Pittsburg State. She ran a time of 1:23.62, surpassing her own school record of 1:24.87. She also finished as the runner up in the pole vault, clearing 12-6.75 (3.83m), which puts her 17th in Division II and best by any student-athlete from the LSC this past week.
Summer Grubbs, UT Tyler, put in another spectacular week on the track for the Patriots. On Friday in the Samford Invite, she placed fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.15 seconds. On Saturday at the Samford Open, Grubbs broke the UT Tyler school record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.41. That run placed her third overall in the competition.
Madison Brown, DBU, set a pair of school records in the mile and 3000 meters at the Rumble in the Jungle in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Saturday. Brown placed second in both races, posting a personal record time of 4:59.37 in the mile and also setting a PR mark in the 3000 meters, crossing the finish line in 9:53.19. Brown's time in the 3000 was good for a provisional national qualifying mark.
Aysha Robinson, Oklahoma Christian, for the third time in as many meets this season, posted a school record in the 60 meters on Saturday in the University of Oklahoma’s J.D. Martin Invitational. The junior from Round Rock, Texas, won her heat and posted the third-best time among 34 women in the prelims (behind only two Division I sprinters) with a time of 7.68 seconds, .05 of a second faster than her previous record, set a week earlier at the Washburn Rust Buster in Topeka, Kan. Robinson beat 16 Division I runners in the race.
Iniuto Ukpong, Texas A&M-Commerce, finished as the runner up in the shot put, with a throw of 42-11.5 (13.09m) and weight throw, with a throw of 50-8 (15.44 m) . She ranks second in the weight throw all season in the LSC, best this past week and second in the shot put as well.
Miriam Zanovello, West Texas A&M, led the Lady Buffs in the long jump finishing 10th at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational. The junior from Chivasso, Italy jumped 18-9.75 (5.73m) on her second attempt. She currently ranks first in the LSC long jump leaderboard at 5.88m.
Kimberly Ortolon, Texas A&M-Kingsville, vaulted to 12-1.5 (3.70m) at the FasTrak Collegiate Challenge on Saturday, a mark that places her 30th in the nation and third in the Lone Star Conference. Additionally, the junior from Edna took second in the event, placing just behind Erica Ellis of Stephen F. Austin.
Abeni Kratzmeyer, UT Tyler, continues to finish strongly on the pole vault. She cleared a height of 12-6 (3.81 m) on Friday in the Samford Invite. That placed her 3rd overall and just .1 meters behind first. That was her third NCAA provisional mark on the season. On Saturday in the Samford Open, she vaulted a height of 12-3.5 (3.75 m) to take home the top spot. She won the event by an incredible .49 meters and placed her fourth NCAA provisional mark of the season.
Leah Oguntope, Oklahoma Christian, competing mostly against throwers from NCAA Division I programs in the University of Oklahoma’s J.D. Martin Invitational, Oguntope took fourth out of 14 women in the weight throw with a top mark of 45-4.5 (13.83 meters). In the shot put, she finished 12th out of 20 women with a throw of 37-5.25 (11.41m).
