LSC Women's Basketball Weekly Release - Week 4

West Texas A&M is the only undefeated Lone Star Conference team at 6-0.
 
      LSC games start this week with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover competitions against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
 
      The LSC Women’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
 
      LSC women’s basketball teams are 47-34 overall and 22-16 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant, Angelo State, JR, Kinesiology, Forward, Amarillo, Texas, Tascosa HS
McGhee-Pleasant lead the Rambelles offensive attack in their win over No.5 Eckerd College last Tuesday. The junior from Amarillo had 21 points, three assists, and eight rebounds including five on the offensive glass. The Rambelles shot 40.9 percent from the field in the contest and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc in their only game last week.
 
DEFENSIVE
Payton Brown, Angelo State, SR, Management, Guard, Lubbock, Texas, Roosevelt HS
Brown and the Rambelles defense held the No. 5 Tritons to 63 points on 40 percent shooting Tuesday afternoon in their only game of the week. Brown, who played all 40 minutes, had 13 points, three steals and six rebounds in the contest. The Rambelles held Eckerd to their second lowest scoring total of the season en route to the seven point victory.
