Angelo State, St. Edward's, and West Texas A&M were 2-0 in Lone Star Conference games in the last week. UT Tyler remains unbeaten this year at 6-0 overall.
LSC games continue with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover contests against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
The LSC Men’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
LSC men’s basketball teams are 86-55 overall and 17-17 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

Thornton averaged 21 points per contest last weekend to lead Buffs offense with 42 total points, including a season-high 24 against Texas A&M International. The senior from Edmond, Okla. shot 56.5% (13-for-23) from the floor, 50% (2-for-4) from the deep and 93.3% (14-for-15) from the charity stripe to go along with six rebounds, three steals and seven assists in victories over Texas A&M-Kingsville and TAMIU.

Achebe had two all-around performances for the Dustdevils in their 1-1 weekend. In Thursday's 75-64 win over Lubbock Christian, Achebe put together a stat line of nine points, three rebounds and a pair of steals. TAMIU held the top shooting team in the conference to 45.3%. LCU entered shooting nearly 39% from three and were limited to just 23.5% (4-for-17). Following that performance on Saturday against ranked West Texas A&M, Achebe was recognized in every category ending with four points, four rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals.
