SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Giancarlo Servin, Texas A&M-Kingsville, powered the Javelina offense to four wins this week, hitting .421 across five games and 19 at-bats. Additionally, the Edinburg North product smashed two homers and a triple en route to nine RBIs and eight runs. He opened the week on Wednesday going 2-5 with a home run in a 24-10 non-conference win over Texas A&M International, which finished one run short of the program record. In conference play, the Javelinas bested UT Tyler thrice in a four-game series with Servin responsible for five RBIs, and four in the series finale. In game four, Servin smashed a home run over the left-field wall in the top of the first before slapping a three-bagger into left field in the second cementing an incredible week at the plate.

Eduardo Acosta, Lubbock Christian, was the Chaps' leading hitter as they won a high-scoring series at home against St. Mary's. He hit .462 for the weekend and drew five walks for a .632 on-base percentage, with both marks leading the team. Two of his hits left the ballpark, as he slugged .923 and collected 12 total bases. Acosta scored six times and drove in another six runs himself. He was 3-4 (.750) with runners in scoring position and had four two-out RBI. He also appeared all over the diamond defensively, spending time in both left and right field, as well as third base and shortstop.

Turner Olson, St. Edward’s, led the SEU offense to a four-game sweep of UT Permian Basin in Austin. Olson hit .384 (5-for-13) during the weekend with four runs scored and seven RBI, six of which came on a grand slam in the series finale on Sunday. The outfielder also earned a walk and swiped three bases against the Falcons.

Rudy Solis, St. Mary’s, led the bats for the Rattlers with a .538 batting average for the week. He was on base 12 times in the four games with seven hits, one walk and he was hit by a pitch four times. The third baseman laid down a successful bunt and swiped a bag. His .667 on-base percentage and .692 slugging percentage were tops on the team as he extended his hitting streak to five straight games.

Chance Westervelt, Oklahoma Christian, hit .583 (7-for-12), posted a slugging percentage of .667, and recorded OC's only stolen base in four games during a tough weekend for the Eagles against No. 12 Angelo State. Westervelt brought in a pair of RBI during the series.

Colton Brown, Lubbock Christian, won a pair of games from the bullpen for the Chaps during a 3-1 homestand. He allowed just one earned run on four hits and one walk across two outings while striking out six St. Mary's batters. His biggest moment came in the top of the ninth in Sunday's series finale. Brown entered the game with a runner on first, no outs, and the game tied at 11. A weak infield single allowed the first batter to reach, but Brown escaped the jam with a pair of strikeouts and a groundout to keep the game tied.

Luke Short, St. Edward’s, threw a complete game for the Hilltoppers in a 6-2 win over UT Permian Basin. The sophomore rung up 10 strikeouts in his seven innings of work, allowing just two hits and two earned runs while holding UTPB batters to an .091 batting average.

Mason Minister, St. Mary’s, struck out a season-high seven batters and only allowed one earned run in pitching five innings in the team's win at Lubbock Christian. The Chaps hit only .250 against him and he surrendered only one walk.
