Three Lone Star Conference teams picked up conference series wins over the weekend, including No. 4 West Texas A&M, Oklahoma Christian and UT Tyler, which each won three games. The Buffs continue to lead the league with a 23-5 record, two games ahead of second-placed Angelo State at 21-7. Lubbock Christian remains in third at 20-8.
LSC baseball teams are playing a single round-robin conference schedule with a four-game series against each league opponent (48 total LSC games).
LSC teams are 5-1 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition in the NCAA Division II South Central Region.

Wolff played a major role at the plate as the Javelinas earned a road-series split against No. 10 Angelo State on the weekend, catching all four games while maintaining a .583 batting average on 7-of-12 from the plate. The sophomore smashed three home runs and hit a pair of doubles to total 11 RBI while racking up a 1.500 slugging percentage during the series in which TAMUK scored 38 runs as a team. Wolff also scored eight runs and earned three walks for the Javelinas.

Alvarenga delivered a lockdown performance to clinch OC's series win over Eastern New Mexico, tossing a nine-inning complete-game shutout on Sunday in a 2-0 win for the Eagles. He allowed only four hits (all singles) while striking out 11, with only one runner advancing beyond second base. Alvarenga struck out five ENMU batters during a stretch in which he retired 12 straight Greyhounds. The sophomore transfer's 11 strikeouts were the fourth-most this season by an LSC pitcher and matched his collegiate high, set last season against Concordia (Texas). With the performance, Alvarenga lowered his season ERA to 5.18.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
George Mendazona, Lubbock Christian, was the Chaps' leading hitter with a .571 batting average and 14 total bases in a series split with St. Edward's. The third basemen tallied eight hits, four of which went for extra bases, including three doubles and one home run. He added in a walk and a hit-by-pitch for a .588 on-base percentage. He is now batting .374 on the year with a .450 on-base percentage.
Adam Becker, West Texas A&M, continued to lead the way offensively for the No. 4 Buffaloes this past weekend as they picked up a Lone Star Conference series victory on the road at St. Mary's to move to 25-5 overall. The Midland product went 10-of-18 at the plate to hit .556 on the weekend with three doubles and a homer to drive in four RBI with 16 total bases for a slugging percentage of .889. Becker connected on his ninth home run of the season during Friday's series opener and leads the league in multiple categories, including batting average (.446) and slugging percentage (.802).
Jacob Elizondo, St. Mary's, was solid at the plate and flashed the leather in the series against No. 4 West Texas A&M. The sophomore had 20 chances without making an error and was part of five double plays for the Rattlers. He also led the club with five RBIs hitting out of the seventh spot in the batting order. Elizondo entered the week hitting .253 and totaled a .417 average for the series with a .533 on-base percentage.
Ethan Coombes, Lubbock Christian, tossed his second straight complete-game shutout, keeping St. Edward's hitters off balance for seven innings in a 4-0 Lubbock Christian win. He scattered three hits in the game for a .130 opponent's batting average and struck out nine Hilltopper batters. The right-hander has now gone 14 straight innings without allowing a run, lowering his season ERA to 4.97.
Clayton McClenan, Cameron, carried the Aggies in the series finale at UAFS on Sunday, throwing a complete-game shutout to earn the split of the weekend series. The sophomore hurler held the Lions to just five hits while striking out five batters in the nine-inning contest. McClenan limited the opposing bats to a .156 average and stranded six UAFS runners on base in the 3-0 Aggie win.
Dylan Blomquist, UT Tyler, continues to be a Friday night specialist for the Patriots as he collected his fifth win of the season against UT Permian Basin. The freshman from Belton, Texas, went six strong innings while scattering five hits and striking out a career-high 11 batters. The Falcons put more than one runner on the base in just two innings as Blomquist dominated the game and allowed zero runs to score. On Saturday, Blomquist stepped to the plate in a DH role in game one of the doubleheader and ripped a double, coming around to score the eventual game-winning run in the fourth inning.
Ruger Bravo, Eastern New Mexico, tossed a complete game with a career-high nine strikeouts during the Hounds' win over Oklahoma Christian, 2-1, in game two of Saturday's doubleheader. The win proved to be the lone victory for the Hounds as Bravo held the Eagles to a .160 batting average giving up one run from four hits. Bravo finished with a 1.29 ERA and allowed just one walk during the contest.
Kolby Lunsford, Texas A&M-Kingsville, earned the win in a 10-4 victory against No. 10 Angelo State, tossing 6.0 innings and striking out four while scattering six. He allowed just two runs throughout the contest while holding a talented Ram batting order to a .273 average.
Jake Rogers, Angelo State, picked up his seventh win of the season during a series split against Texas A&M Kingsville after throwing a complete seven-inning game with three runs off of six hits. He held the Javelinas to a .231 batting average while striking out two batters and walking one. Rogers is tied for first in the LSC in total wins this season.
