SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Ashton Turner, UT Tyler, turned in a huge weekend at the Carl Kight Invitational by breaking school records in the 400-meter hurdles and the 110-meter hurdles while collecting first and second overall in the two events. In the 400 hurdles, Turner ran a time of 53.29 seconds to eclipse his previous record by .66 seconds. His first overall placement beat several top Division I and Division II opponents and set an NCAA Division II provisional mark. In the 110 hurdles, Turner claimed second overall with a time of 14.25 seconds. That passes the previous school record by just .03 seconds and sets another NCAA Division II provisional mark.

Dylan Burrows, Oklahoma Christian, posted a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark while winning the 800 meters on Saturday in Wichita State's K.T. Woodman Invitational at Cessna Stadium. The sophomore won the 39-man race with a time of 1:50.91, more than 1.6 seconds faster than the runner-up. That time ranks 17th in Division II this season.

Gabriel Field, Texas A&M-Kingsville, clocked in at 53.27 at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational for a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles as well as the 23rd best time in all of NCAA Division II. While in Coral Gables, he also competed as a member of the men's 4x400m relay team that placed second behind Miami in 3:17.56.

Kelvin Kipkemboi, Eastern New Mexico, entered the program record books this weekend after a great performance in the 10,000 meters at the Jo Meaker Classic. In his first time completing the event, Kipkemboi took home 2nd place with a time of 31:33.83 (30:57.27, adjusted for altitude) and landed fourth in the program records. The time is also second for the event this season in the LSC.

Jordan Wilson, Texas A&M-Kingsville, leaped 23-10.75 (7.28m) on his second attempt in the long jump at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational. His distance placed him seventh amongst a slew of NCAA Division I and professional athletes while representing a provisional qualifying mark that sits him 20th on the national leaderboard.

Minna Svaerd, Texas A&M-Commerce, competed in three events at the Lions' home meet last weekend and set a school or facility record in all three events. She raced to a time of 58.30 seconds in the 400 hurdles, which is the new facility record and timed 3:42.61 in the 4x400 meter relay, which also set the new facility record. She cleared 13-3.5 (4.05m) in the pole vault, which is the new school and facility record as well as best in the LSC and eighth in the country.

Kyra Winn, UT Tyler, etched her name in UT Tyler program history yet again with another school record breaking performance at the Carl Kight Invitational on Saturday. Winn competed in the 800 meters and posted a time of 2:17.66 to pass her school record by .89 seconds. The senior from Gladewater, Texas also posted a seventh-place finish in the event and was the second highest Division II finisher.

Bryah Davis, Oklahoma Christian, posted top-five finishes in both the 100 meters and 200 meters to lead Oklahoma Christian in Wichita State's K.T. Woodman Invitational on Saturday. Davis finished fourth among 71 women in the 100 meters with an eye-popping time of 11.54 seconds. That would have crushed OC's school record in the event had her effort not been wind-aided, and thus ineligible to count for records or for NCAA Division II qualifying purposes. She followed up with a fifth place showing (among 84 women) in the 200 meters with a time of 24.51 seconds.

Elliot Harrison, West Texas A&M, grabbed another win for the Lady Buffs, finishing first in the heptathlon with a personal-best 4,550 points at the Jo Meaker Classic. She stayed consistent among the competition until she secured her victory in the final event with a time of 2:28.46 in the 800m.

Gertrudis Balli, Texas A&M-Kingsville, performed exceptionally well at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational, meeting the NCAA provisional qualifying standard in the discus, and climbing up to seventh nationally. She slung the implement 159-1 (48.49m) in Coral Gables, placing fifth behind athletes competing for Miami, Oklahoma, and Michigan State. She also competed in the shot put for the Javelinas, where she reached 40-7.5 (12.38m) for a ninth-place finish.
