LSC Softball Weekly Release - Week 11

Oklahoma Christian and UT Tyler lead the Lone Star Conference standings with 20-4 league records with two weeks in the regular season play remaining
 
      LSC teams are playing a single round-robin schedule with a doubleheader (two games) against each league opponent.  The LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular-season conference games. 
 
      The single-elimination LSC Championship featuring the top 10 teams will be played May 5-6-7, at the No. 1 seed.  The winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion and receive the league’s automatic qualification into the NCAA postseason.
 
      In the NCAA Division II South Central Region, LSC teams are 37-18 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition.

SOFTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Tristyn Hamilton, Oklahoma Christian, SO, Early Childhood Education, Outfielder, Durant, Okla., Durant HS,
The sophomore outfielder starred for the 16th-ranked Eagles in a 9-1, 13-0 sweep of visiting Northwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday that extended OC's winning streak to 20 games, an ongoing school record. In the doubleheader, Hamilton hit .667 with a triple, a double, seven RBIs and two runs scored while posting a 1.167 slugging percentage. In the second game, batting in the ninth spot in OC's order, she had a career-high six RBIs – matching the fourth-highest single-game total in program history. She hit a bases-loaded triple in the second inning that started the Eagles' scoring and added a RBI single in the fourth inning and a two-run double in the fourth inning. Before Tuesday, Hamilton had only 16 RBIs all season.

In an extra inning affair against St. Mary's on Thursday, Lizette Del Angel provided the Javelinas with five innings of scoreless relief work before TAMUK scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Del Angel allowed only two hits, didn't walk a batter and she retired the last eight batters she faced.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Leah Deaver, Texas Woman's, led the Pioneers in hits this past week in their lone midweek game against Oklahoma Baptist. Deaver had four hits on the week and no strikeouts.
 
      Kali Crandall, Oklahoma Christian, carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and surrendered only one hit (a single) as OC extended its winning streak to a school-record 20 games (the second-longest active streak in Division II) with a 13-0 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday. She was part of a pitching staff that didn't allow an earned run in 11 innings of work in the doubleheader sweep.
