Women's Golf academic honors revealed

GLEN ROSE, Texas – Texas A&M-Commerce’s Sophie-Charlott Hempel was tabbed Lone Star Conference Women’s Academic Player of the Year to lead the women's golf academic awards announced by league officials Wednesday.
 
      Hempel headlined the academic honors and was joined by DBU’s Faith DeLaGarza and Julia Garcia, Midwestern State’s Mason Garrett, and St. Mary's Rebecca Reed
 
      Hempel was a repeat selection.
 
      To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 grade point average and be at least a sophomore, both academically and athletically. The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting based on both academic and athletic achievement.
