PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Nick Wolff, Texas A&M-Kingsville, SO, Wildlife and Range Management, Catcher, Klein, Texas
Wolff was once again impressive at the plate, hitting .636 while helping his team take three out of four from No. 5 West Texas A&M at home. The sophomore catcher registered his second-straight weekend batting over .600, going 7-for-11 with three home runs and six RBI from the third spot in the lineup. Wolff recorded his second multi-home run game of the season in the opener against WT, propelling his team to a 13-1 run-rule victory over the Buffs. He was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate in the victory, with three RBI, three runs scored, and a walk. In the first game of a Saturday doubleheader, Wolff logged three more RBI and a homer before scoring a pair of runs in the series finale. In total, he dented the plate six times on the weekend. Defensively, Wolff caught all but one inning for the Javelinas, leading the team in putouts with 30. Additionally, he slugged 1.455 and maintained a .750 on-base percentage for an OPS of 2.205.
PITCHER
Jack Eagan, West Texas A&M, SR, Educational Leadership, LHP, Wautoma, Wisc., Wautoma HS
Eagan was dominant for the Buffs in game three at Nolan Ryan Field in Kingsville, as No. 5 West Texas A&M claimed their first victory of the series in an 8-0 win over the Javelinas. The senior lefty from Wautoma, Wisconsin, tossed a no-hitter in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader, registering a career-high 14 strikeouts with three walks and two hit-by-pitches on 119 pitches. The 14 Ks also marked the highest total by an LSC pitcher this season and the second time Eagan has fanned double-digit batters in a game. The senior transfer finished off WT's first no-no since February of 2019 via the strikeout in the Buffs' eight-run win.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Eduardo Acosta, Lubbock Christian, set the tone for a great Chaparral offensive weekend as the leadoff hitter helped sweep UT Permian Basin. He hit .692 for the series, with three doubles and a pair of triples, collecting a team-high 16 total bases and slugging 1.231. Acosta added three walks for an on-base percentage of .750. The Puerto Rico native scored seven times and drove in seven runs as well, going 3-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Aaron Walters, Angelo State, was a force at the plate as the Rams swept a four-game series over Cameron. Walters collected 11 RBIs on the weekend while hitting three home runs and a double for a slugging percentage of 1.071. He batted .357 with a .500 on-base percentage and came around to score nine times.
Clay Bradford, St. Mary's, did a little of everything for the Rattlers in the split against UT Tyler as he went 7-for-15 at the plate with a pair of doubles, walked twice, drove in three runs, stole three bases, recorded 11 putouts and tallied another outfield assist for his fourth of the season. The junior from Atascocita, Texas, also pitched six innings in a no-decision, allowing three earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts - and he moved to right field for the final two innings after leaving the pitching mound. For the week, he hit .467 with a team-best .529 on-base percentage and a .600 slugging percentage.
Grant Lake, Oklahoma Christian, had his best day as a collegiate player on Friday, smashing three solo home runs – equaling his homer total for the entire season to that point – as OC swept a doubleheader from Arkansas-Fort Smith 12-3 and 7-2. He hit one homer in the sixth inning of the opener, then had homered in the second and the sixth innings in the second game. He hit .429 (6-for-14) in the four-game series with a 1.071 slugging percentage and a .529 on-base percentage while scoring five runs.
Devin Ferrari, UT Permian Basin, continues to mash for the Falcons. The senior currently holds the highest slugging percentage in team single-season history, just ahead of former World Series Champion Evan Gattis. Ferrari homered twice at Lubbock Christian while swiping three bags.
Ethan Coombes, Lubbock Christian, tossed his fifth complete game of the season in a 10-0 Lubbock Christian win over UT Permian Basin. He allowed a hit to the very first batter of the game and none after that, holding the Falcons to a .048 batting average. The right-hander also matched his season-high with ten strikeouts in the outing and only allowed a baserunner to reach third once. His complete-game one-hitter was the first by a Lubbock Christian pitcher since March 23, 2019, when Chandler Casey accomplished the feat.
Adrian Gonzales, St. Mary's, pitched a beauty in just his third start of the season, as the senior held UT Tyler to one unearned run on three hits over eight innings in his final career home game. Gonzales held the potent Patriot offense to a .107 batting average and twice during the game retired eight straight, retiring the side in order in the four, fifth, seventh and eighth innings.
Logan Garza, Texas A&M-Kingsville, held one of the league's top hitting teams to a .179 batting average in 7.2 innings of work, earning a 4-2 victory over No. 5 West Texas A&M for his fifth win of the season. He struck out nine in his longest outing of the season, scattering five hits and two runs on 125 pitches.
Carson Childers, Angelo State, picked up his fifth win of the season as he led the Rams to a sweep over Cameron on Sunday. He threw seven innings of work with only five hits while striking out eight batters. He held the Aggies to a clip of only .192 while allowing only one walk.
Jacob Mattox, Oklahoma Christian, pitched his second career complete game in a 12-3 win over UAFS, allowing only five hits in seven innings and striking out a career-high 13 batters, the second-highest single-game strikeout total recorded this season by an LSC pitcher. The senior from Plano did it all on a day not favorable for pitchers, with winds gusting from the south (and toward left field) as high as 40 mph during the game.
