LSC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MEN’S TRACK
J.T. Smith, Texas A&M-Commerce, SR, Kinesiology & Sport Studies, Klein, Texas
Smith raced to two top five marks in the country, this past weekend at the David Noble Relays. He clocked in a time of 10.28 seconds in the 100 meter dash, which is the second fastest time in Division II and the LSC this season. He also broke the school record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 39.40 seconds, which is best in the country.
CO-MEN’S FIELD
Elvis Kryukov, Angelo State, SO, Business Administration, Limassol, Cyprus, Agios Athanasios
Kryukov finished first overall in the decathlon at the David Noble Relays with 7,529 points, which currently leads all of Division II in the event. He earned top marks in the long jump, the discus, and the javelin while finishing second in three other events.
Moaz Ibrahim, Texas A&M-Commerce, SR, General Studies, Cairo, Egypt
Ibrahim had a mark of 184-10 (56.33m) in the discus this past weekend at the David Noble Relays, which now leads the country. This was just his second competition in college.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Minna Svaerd, Texas A&M-Commerce, SR, Health Kinesiology & Sport Studies, Karlstad, Sweden
Svaerd raced to a time of 57.91 seconds in the 400 hurdles at the David Noble Relays to break her own school record and that time is also the best time in the country this season. She is also competed in the pole vault, finishing fourth with a mark of 11-10 (3.61m), which is third in the LSC.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Maricia Spence, Angelo State, FR, Economics, Christiana, Jamaica, Holmwood Technical
Spence finished first overall in the heptathlon at the David Noble Relays, collecting 5,371 points, earning a personal best by more than 500 points. She earned first-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles and shot put, and currently leads all of Division II in the multis.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Corey Perryman, UT Tyler, continued his strong run of form during the outdoor season with a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles at the David Noble Relays. Perryman ran a time of 14.27 seconds which breaks the school record in the event and becomes his first NCAA Division II provisional mark of the season. The finish was also second amongst LSC competition in the discipline.
Owen Pearce, Oklahoma Christian, shattered his previous-best time in the 5,000 meters by nearly 15 seconds with a time of 14:36.87 in the Washington Distance Carnival in St. Louis on Friday night. The time was good for an eighth-place finish in a field of 174 runners and was the second-fastest this season for a Lone Star Conference runner over 5,000 meters.
Bryce Spencer, Lubbock Christian, had great weekend at the Masked Rider Open, setting a new school record in the discus and earning a podium finish in both the hammer and javelin. His discus toss of 171-8 (52.32m) broke his own previous school record. It is also the third-best mark in the conference this season and is an NCAA provisional mark. His third-place hammer throw distance was 183-11 (56.07) and he took third in the javelin as well with a toss of 182-8 (55.68).
Tayvion Johnson, Texas A&M-Kingsville, logged an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the high jump at the David Noble Relays after the Houston native cleared a bar of 6-9 (2.06m) to place fourth. Additionally, this mark represents a new personal best as well as the 12th ranked standard on the Division II performance list.
Alex Rodriguez, UT Tyler, came away with a fourth-place finish in the men's shot put Saturday at the David Noble Relays after a clutch throw on his sixth and final attempt of the day. Going into round six, Rodriguez sat back in sixth place behind a pair of LSC competitors and needed a big throw to jump ahead. His throw of 54-1.75 (16.50m) jumped him into fourth place overall and ahead of all LSC competition on the day.
Chaney Martin, Oklahoma Christian, finished first or second in four events in the Paul Parent Invitational in Yukon, Okla., on Saturday. He took top honors in both the pole vault (4.45m) and the 110-meter hurdles in 16.15 seconds. He also took second in the long jump (6.53m) and shot put (10.65m).
Kenya Bailey, Oklahoma Christian, the junior distance standout posted a personal-best time in the 5,000 meters on Friday night during the Washington Distance Carnival in St. Louis, finishing 15th in a field of 136 runners in 17:32.76. Her 5,000-meter time ranks second this season among LSC runners.
Emme O'Donnell, DBU, won both the 1500 meters and 5000 meters races at the David Noble Relays. In the 1500, O'Donnell clocked a personal record time of 4:48.00 and crossed the finish line with a PR of 18:27.81 in the 5000.
Marissa Agee, UT Tyler, had a stellar weekend in the 1500-meter category at the David Noble Relays. In the afternoon edition of the event, Agee posted a new personal best by 14 seconds as she posted a time of 5:04.06 while running away from the competition to win the event by 4.57 seconds. That finish allowed her into the evening race, where she placed seventh with a time of 5:10.25.
Candesha Scott, Texas A&M-Commerce, threw the best mark in the javelin in the conference and third in the country this past weekend at the David Noble Relays. Her mark was 156-4 (47.65m) to win the event.
Kimberly Ortolon, Texas A&M-Kingsville, logged her first provisional mark of the outdoor season at the David Noble Relays, after clearing 12-4 (3.76m) to place third. Her height ranks 26th nationally and sits atop the Lone Star Conference leaderboard.
Taelor Brown, Oklahoma Christian, won three events in the Paul Parent Invitational in Yukon, Okla., on Saturday. She took top honors in the hammer (40.12m), the shot put (11.95m) and the discus (37.30m).
